Pityriasis Rosea In Bla

James Bond Party

Welcome to the new year. I wore with the intention of abandoning writing a blog, not because it does not make me a pleasure, but because of the extremely tight schedule. My intentions were very serious and imminent implementation and if not for my Dad is probably now I would have taken leave:)

Besides, we have a new year, a time for New Year's resolutions. My last year realized a exemplary, except one, but I tried to hard, did not work out, I can always start again.

So my New Years resolution is one post per week. And that requires the written word more the better. It was

My first Christmas away from home. A few months ago did not imagine that I could spend Christmas without loved ones. On the other hand, tempted me for a long time, not to say that it was my dream to spend the holidays away from home and family. Sure it sounds very logical, but that's how I felt. While in Poland, even in Europe for a very odczuwałabym lack of family, Christmas Eve, the preparations, all this unique atmosphere. But here in San Francisco after 5 months in the U.S., my peaceful and controversial dream suddenly took on the shape. I was curious how Americans spend their holidays and how I'll feel .... In short, both very positive experience:)

still think about it not written, but a month ago I moved again. I love my former roommates, the two-legged and four-legged, and those living in terrariums and aquariums, but not really suited me my room (very dark) and temperature in the apartment. It is indeed quite common phenomenon in SF, freezes in the winter in their own apartment. Victorian houses are beautiful, but terrible for heating. Walls, or the material of which they are constructed These houses do not hold heat, leaky windows complete the picture ...

is somewhat understandable that this situation does not turn on heat until it gets really cold. A definition of "really cool" is different for everyone:) My roommates turned out to be very seasoned, for them is not the first autumn / winter in SF, except that given the structure of the building and leaky windows, it's hard to see why, turning on the heating becomes whim:) heating in many local homes is quite specific, with thermostats no one has heard, no radiators, just blower. They are loud, fast it gets warm, even hot and cold just as quickly, even when turned off.

colleague, also an intern, offered me to move to her apartment. Sara lives with John, who is her partner in life. Bassets have 9, which fortunately tend to rotate in the city, every day they live in their house in Sacramento (capital of California.)
Most have two basset hounds in the house. Heating blower there, but the windows are fairly tight:) Compared to the temperatures in Poland, here is the warm autumn, and although I'm obviously accustomed low-temperature-like winter, is jointly and severally nodded when my friends asked if temp 7-10 C is also for me is "very cold". I remember how I came to SF, greeted me cold summer, which is here considered to be the worst time of year, and friends have told me, wait for Indian summer, and then for the winter in SF, you will see how wonderful it is to enjoy the beautiful weather, when the north of Europe is already cold. Then I thought that I will miss the winter, but it's really fun to walk in wearing in December and sit outside drinking a cup of coffee:) Finally, 2 hours away by car and we flit skiing in Tahoe:)

In December, the pre-Christmas period and public holiday, I moved to friends that have a beautiful loft in Somi, a former industrial and hazardous area of SF, which is now a growing. A completely different building, it reminds me a little Kabaty Warsaw. Very much modern lofts.
eight months I was under the care of Lola, a hybrid Rhodesian Ridgeback and a dachshund and probably a few other breeds. A dog with problems, but I like this:)

Christmas in America is above all a day off from work, December 25.
At the beginning of my stay I impression that the term American really does not define anyone, because there is such diversity. But during their stay here, I learned or got used to, that's one of the main characteristics of this country. Feast of all Americans this Thanksgiving, Christmas due to a mixture of cultural - ethnic - religious are very simply a sort of Thanksgiving back to the public. Beautifully decorated with houses, streets and squares. Is a web site devoted to homes in the Bay Area (SF area), which is worth seeing, people to go for a walk routes przystrojonych homes. Of course, we have a crisis, but it was hard to see it squeezing into the crowd laden with Christmas shopping Americans)

Ironically my holidays here were far more Christian than the current size. Inspired by the act / achievement of my friend from London a few years ago a member of the famous and popular rock band, who on Christmas Eve for several hours (until dawn), helped by a huge Christmas party for homeless people, I got into dogs, the so-called. red list. Red List is a problem in a nutshell (Aggression on different grounds, guarding / defending food, toys, etc.). And that only trained people can take care of them. Amazing experience, seeing the joy these dogs really had the impression that they speak with a human voice.
For Christmas Dinner, a Christmas dinner I was invited to Chris and Jo, Canadians, I did not know by sight, but couch surfers forum ( http://www.couchsurfing.com/ ). Jo & Chris, who did not return to Vancouver for the holidays hosted at home during this period couchsurfingowców pair of Montreal, which were not familiar (French and Canadian) and decided to invite also those who, for various reasons did not spend Christmas with your family or in the home region. There was not counting brought gifts and wine products, but it was shared cooking, joking, telling about themselves, about their countries, shared washing etc. There were 13 people, three Americans, the rest from various countries around the world. Most are not planning to leave SF, but there were also those who have not flown home due to the huge blizzards and their consequences - canceled flights and closed roads. Of course, I mean blizzards outside SF, here at the most rain falls:)

accordance with the local New Year's Eve tradition started in the restaurant, we went to a trendy English restaurant on the 7 course dinner. Fortunately, the portions were kind of tasting:) After dinner we went
the party James Bond Party organized in a private penthouse. Penthouse was totally glazed. Amazing view of SF, Golden Gate Bridge, the bay. She was, of course, vodka martini, shaken not stirred and the sea of champagne:)
at midnight was a fireworks display over the bay, beyond the silence, are prohibited in SF fireworks.
event was very successful, but for me the most amazing thing was that the New Year welcome in this magical place in San Francisco, having them at my feet:)

hit the next day was New Year's breakfast, which we went to the premises, which serves breakfast only, but for hours. 3 pm:)
not know if it's fact or hunger, but it was the best omelet I have ever tasted:)
Happy New Year!
