How To Make Dune Buggy Faster

Chwin Mr. and Miss Ferbelin

surprisingly different. Shockingly surprising. Friendships tangled or even seriously funny. Such contradictory terms opisałabym last novel by Stefan Chwin Miss Ferbelin . Although the title Miss Ferbelin is - like for example, another heroine of the author Esther - governess, the whole novel has little in common with his previous books. Miss Ferbelin also, as many previous books, the author describes the history of the past. But in this book, this past unexpectedly accumulates as vitamins In a nutshell - is all - the present and history at the same time. The story begins with mundane events - when the daughter of a carpenter - Cover Maria Ferbelin brings home the long-awaited contract to work for his father. House, which has long been credited not become happy and full of hope for a better tomorrow, even though this order is the same Prosecutor's Office and the concerns of ... the gallows, which somewhat cast a shadow over all of the previous euphoria. Unfortunately, despite the great joy and a big financial injection, what it brings order gained by Maria in a surprisingly-suspicious manner also brings a wave of misery. Beginning with the protests and harassment of the house carpenter to the hard work and effort invested in it okupionego disease. And then the unexpected happens, another event in the life of Mary - the same Prosecutor's Office receives a work at home Hammelsa prosecutor, where he is to be governess to his son, Helmut.
Miss Ferbelin is full of novel symbols of Gdansk, which also constitutes a kind of symbol, because it can, as a specific point on the map mean the whole country. The times in which the novel takes place are not further specified - You suspect that the action takes place at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. However, the complexity of the situation and their simultaneous divergence in the past are not unity, but in the book by Stefan Chwin it is. Finally, Miss Ferbelin is a novel about Christ, how jawiłby perhaps in the world today. O Christ niepasującym to today's church.
fate of all the heroes of the book in an unexpected and surprising way connected with each other, along the way stirring a clear and significant events in Polish history. And so we read about the strike at the shipyard, chaired by a man representing Christ (Kurt Niemand) niesionym workman on the doors torn from their frames, or the riots in Gdansk, which triggers an explosion at the station. There is also the figure depicting Pilate, who seems to Case for Christ (here Niemand, a man of Neustadt in the Rhineland - do not you associate it with Christ of Nazareth? "). In the novel, the story of Stefan Chwin perfectly combines with the legend, and the truth is mixed in seamlessly with fiction. It is as if the author mixed the paint, adding still new colors. This book is not only symbolic but eloquent and ambiguous, the perfect combination of history and modernity. Chwin simply dressed in contemporary costume history - so just imagine the novel, Miss Ferbelin - as staid lady in latex pants (associate to measure Christ aka Kurt walking arm in arm with Mary and dressed in black, long coat). But on the other hand, I find it hard to imagine Mary - I do not know whether it is dressed in the costume of the era (and, if so, which one?) Or which cause the my imagination the scene as it resembles an affair with ... Christ in a bold modern dress the modern woman? I also argue the streets of Gdansk images presented in the book: on the one hand hanging specter of war, on the other hand the splendor of the house the prosecutor did not allow me to offset that image. Somehow, it codified. But nothing I do not mind to read, and even gives it flavor and freshness, not only because of the difference, if we take into account the earlier book by Stefan Chwin.
reading a book, you can experience the impression of confusion, because these flashbacks to the days of Christ, the numerous references to events that took place either one thousand or ten years ago need to focus. Indefinite time course of history and co-exclusive date, which sometimes appear in the book - all this makes the book is both a difficult but interesting reading. And all these strange events make is that the book is read with more curiosity, each waiting for the next page, the next surprise. After coming to who is the man of Neustadt with healing power and the resurrection of the dead is not surprising so much with the appearance of an octopus Helgi providing results at the Sopot Hippodrome, or the name of the archbishop of Gdansk named Slavoy Gertz.
Both during reading Ferbelin Mary, and afterwards I felt that Stephen Chwin messed up in my head, but it was a pleasant feeling. Like someone with a joke telling the story, which is presented as more digestible. As if anyone in the sweet-bitter pill he wanted to present a significant fate for the Polish. Or maybe it's trying to prove that the author of Esther and Hanemann also able to joke about? Or, finally, also, to show that our whole life is a joke. Do we really know how much of what we experience and absorb the truth and what is a figment of our imagination? What happened, and what historians tell us, legends and distorted by many thousands of years stories. For what in the fiction of life is truth and what is also true in the living human hypocrisy. Among others, these questions come to mind after reading Mary Ferbelin .
Not so long ago, walking through the streets of Gdansk Oliwa (because on a trip through the streets of the Tri-City, in the footsteps of books Stefan Chwin weather would not let me, but everything in front of me) I thought to myself, I recognize that the ideal place with all the books I've read the author. However, those "with Mary Ferbelin " I find it hard to believe and I treat them like a good picture of a painter who painted it, after looking at the specific view, and yet, somehow I do not trust it all. I look and discern the truth somewhere.
